Sharon Hoota’s Moroccan-Israeli heritage instilled in him a deep-rooted tradition of warm, gracious hospitality. Growing up in Israel with Moroccan roots, he learned early that welcoming guests with open arms and fresh, vibrant food was more than a custom—it was a way of life. This spirit of connection and generosity continues to shape everything he does. After moving to New York, Sharon brought this Mediterranean sensibility to the city’s dynamic dining scene. With over two decades in hospitality, he has built a reputation for creating spaces that are both elegant and inviting.
In 2023, Sharon opened two ZIZI Wine Bar locations in Manhattan, where his passion for seasonal ingredients, soulful food, and curated wines quickly found a devoted following. These are the latest additions to a growing portfolio that includes the beloved ZIZI Chelsea and two Hummus Kitchen locations across the city.
ZIZI Wine Bar is the younger, spicier sister of ZIZI Chelsea—a restaurant that brings together all of Sharon’s passions: vibrant flavors, warm hospitality, and a love for community. While ZIZI Chelsea laid the foundation, ZIZI Wine Bar adds a bold new energy with its playful charm, dynamic wine list, and shareable small plates.
